Meet Spalding, a very handsome young man with a big personality. Spalding is the sweetest cat you'll ever meet. He is very chatty and loves his human and cat siblings and telling them exactly how he feels. He loves to play and is very active, but also is completely up for a good snuggle session with his human family. He sleeps every night in his foster mom's bed, and will always wake her up purring for a morning cuddle. Spalding will make an amazing companion for humans that are at home a lot, or with a younger feline playmate.Spalding has Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD), which can cause sporadic vomiting and diarrhea. His symptoms are managed with a prescription diet, probiotics, and steroids. It is possible that his medication can be weaned down over time, but his new home will have to determine this with their veterinarian. Spalding is amazing and always takes his pills without any problem. His foster mom easily pops it in his mouth, but he is very food motivated and will probably eat it in food. Spalding also gets stressed easily and may pee in inappropriate places. It is important to manage his stress and he would do well in a calm, quiet home to continue with his litterbox manners. His foster has managed his inappropriate urination with proper cleaning and a Feliway diffuser and he is doing great! He also has occasional herpes flare-ups but that is easily managed with a lysine supplement. Even with these health hiccups, Spalding is such an amazing companion and the most absolute perfect cat. He scratches on appropriate surfaces and is very easy to handle with anything from grooming to nail trimming to medicating. His big personality draws everyone in and makes everyone instantly fall in love with him.
